The statue of Hachiko, a symbol of Shibuya,
modelled after Akita dog Hachi loved
by everyone all over the world was born in 1923 in Odate, Akita.
Welcoming its 100th birthday,
the story of Hachiko edures and continues to teach us of the love
which far exceeds the boundaries of a human-animal relationship.
Shibuya and Odate bonded by Hachi is planning
a 100th birthday celebration for it.
Wouldn't it be great to look back on the past 100 years
and moving forward think about the things Hachi has taught us
over the span of its life?
Things like loyalty and the love between pet and owner.
